Research and GrantsDirect.com
are published by Jankowski Associates, Inc. (JA) based in Frederick,
Maryland. Headed by Bernie Jankowski, JA has been providing
innovative solutions for nonprofit organizations' research needs for
more than 18 years. Why Use JA's Research?
Almost every fundraising "How-To" instructs, "Doing
your homework is the key to foundation grants." Unfortunately,
most foundations do not publish information. So how can
you do homework on a subject that lacks data?
Look to Jankowski Research be your homework helper. Our expert
research staff analyzes thousands of Forms 990-PF each year and
reports current data through various products . . . and then we focus
on keying grants. No other resource in the country, not even the
Foundation Center, provides the in-depth grants information you will
find here. This critical data allows you to understand and create
relationships with the largest new foundations, as well as regional
foundations headquartered in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and
Northern Virginia.
Need an example? In October 2007, JA's editors compared the data on
445 of Maryland's leading 500 foundations by giving. Using JA's
GrantsDirect.com, members could search 41,055 foundation grants paid
in 2005 and 2006, compared to just 1,834 grants in the Foundation
Center's FC Search 11.0. GrantsDirect.com clearly is the better source
for identifying foundation prospects based on grants research.
JA's research method accurately identifies geographic distribution and
foundation priorities based on keying at
least 80% of foundation grants paid, no matter what the size. Our
staff captures grant
recipients at such a deep level that organizations of all sizes always find meaningful information about
potential funders. Grants data is linked to comprehensive online
profiles that track
and report key financial information -- especially assets, giving and
gifts received --over time, officers and directors, contact
information and application guidelines.
GrantsDirect.com captures more
than 450,000 grants paid by 6,000 foundations: the largest new
foundations in the country and regional foundations headquartered in
Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Use GrantsDirect.com
to pinpoint funders by organization type,
city and state, where grants are paid, size of grant, and more.
Jankowski Research members also
receive, in addition to a subscription to GrantsDirect.com, custom
research reports and the opportunity to purchase grants spreadsheets
at a discount. Spreadsheets contain thousands of grants paid by new
foundations to such focus areas as women and girls, the environment,
and children and families.
Print directories profile regional foundations serving Maryland, D.C., and
Northern Virginia.
